Today I was told of this national tragedy by my mother, and once again I really had to search to find this jewel.
Surprisingly, according to a news story on ABC News a group of 8 – 12 Chinese workers has been selected to be imported to the U.S. in order to assemble a “sculpture” on the National Mall in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Members of the local 1 Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers union have left leaflets at the downtown offices of the Martin Luther King Memorial Foundation saying that outsourcing the project to China during a time of high national unemployment is “wrong, wrong, wrong”
In my opinion its much more then wrong.. it is outrageous and is actually something that should be illegal!
The president of Local 1 Scott Garvin questions why the government would pass over the same group of workers that have worked on virtually every other National Mall project.
While I personally have not seen any plans for the face of this monument I must speculate that the only reason imaginable for hiring this group of foreign scabs would be because of there noted superiority at building walls..

While I didn’t bother contacting anyone for comment.. I do personally find the issue ironic considering the objective of Dr. King’s 1963 march on Washington was not only about civil rights but also the enlistment of American jobs.
