A divided federal appeals court today dismissed
a lawsuit concerning the C.I.A’s practice of rendition.
The Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals
In a six-to-five vote reversed an earlier decision and dismissed
a lawsuit against Jeppesen Dataplan Inc. A subsidiary of Boeing.
They were accused of arranging the flights used for rendition by the C.I.A.
Quotes from an article on the NY Times:
“a painful conflict between human rights and national security.”
the majority had “reluctantly” concluded that the lawsuit represented “a rare case” in which the government’s need to protect state secrets trumped the plaintiffs’ need to have any day in court.
I honestly do not even know where to start… any day in court?
